FAQ'S

  • WHAT IS PERMANENT MAKEUP?
Permanent makeup, also known as cosmetic tattooing or micro-pigmentation, is a non-surgical procedure that involves the application of pigments to enhance and define facial features. It is designed to mimic the appearance of makeup, such as eyeliner, eyebrows, and lip color, and it typically lasts for several years.
  • CAN ANYONE GET PERMANENT MAKEUP?
While permanent makeup is suitable for many individuals, there are certain considerations. Pregnant or breastfeeding women are typically advised to wait until after their pregnancy or nursing period. People with certain skin conditions or medical issues may also need to consult with their healthcare provider before proceeding.
  • DOES THE PERMANENT MAKEUP PROCEDURE HURT?
The level of discomfort can vary from person to person. We take measures to ensure your comfort during the procedure. Before starting, a topical anaesthetic is applied to minimise any discomfort. Most clients report feeling only minimal discomfort or a slight sensation during the process.
  • HOW LONG DOES PERMANENT MAKEUP LAST?
The longevity of prominent makeup can vary depending on various factors, such as the individual's skin type, lifestyle and aftercare. Generally, it can last between 1-3 years. Periodic touch-ups are recommended to maintain the desired colour and shape.
  • HOW LONG DOES THE PERMANENT MAKEUP PROCEDURE TAKE?
The duration of a permanent makeup procedure can vary depending on the area being treated and the complexity of the design. On average, a single session can take anywhere from 1 to 3 hours. More intricate procedures, such as full lip color or eyebrow reconstruction, may take longer. It's important to note that this time estimate includes the consultation, preparation, numbing, and actual application of the pigments. We will provide a more accurate timeframe during your initial consultation based on your specific needs and the desired outcome.
  • HOW MANY SESSIONS ARE NEEDED?
A minimum of two sessions is usually required. The initial session is followed by a touch up session scheduled around 4 to 6 weeks later. This timeframe allows for the initial and setting of the pigments.
  • WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING THE HEALING PROCESS?
During the healing process, you can expect some common changes in the treatment area. These may include temporary redness, swelling and mild discomfort. The appearance of scabs or flakes is also normal as the skin heals. The colour of the pigment may appear darker and more intense initially but will gradually fade as the healing progresses.
  • ARE THERE ANY AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR PERMANENT MAKEUP?
Yes, aftercare instructions will be provided to you after the procedure. These may include keeping the treated area clean, avoiding excessive moisture and applying a recommended healing balm. It's important to follow these instructions carefully to ensure optimal healing and long-lasting results.
